Specializing in biotechnology and soil quality assessment, MI-factor transforms how we manage agriculture production, directing it towards data-driven precise solutions that enhance sustainability, prevention, and long-term resilience.
Our Beginning
MI-factor was born from the ashes—literally.
After witnessing the devastating 2023 wildfires in Evros, Greece, we envisioned a solution to restore biodiversity and soil quality using microbial intelligence and AI. Our journey relied on our research background and began as a research proposal idea that gradually evolved into an innovation-driven agronomy startup. In April 2024, our research idea were awarded and recognized by SEGE, Her Research and NBG Seeds competition.
Building Collaborations
We are part of a strong business hub.
Our early successes led us to create new collaborations with the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, as well as the University of Thessaly, and participate in business accelerators like NBG Seeds, EGG (Ender-Grow-Go), and NextStage. Through these programs, we have been able to secure the support of KEMEL and our mentor, Mr. Dionisios Spiliopoulos, who helped us refine our business model, expand our network, and pursue funding opportunities. Our collaborations soon extended to include Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Democritus University of Thrace (UTH), and companies in the agri-food sector such as CROSS Agro, Four and a consultancy company named RDCAl. These collaborations will support the development of our pilot actions.
Our Projects
Currently we are involved in multiple projects related to soil analysis, monitoring, and precise quality restoration. Our methods include the use of Machine Learning (ML) for risk hotspot prediction, and targeted intervention via genetic identification, pathogen early detection and prevention, as well as precise soil management and biostimulant application.
